It has been awhile since we’ve posted on this overall blog that looks at #DigPINS as an open faculty development project. As a networked experience over multiple institutions it is easy to get caught up in the individual projects and implementations and forget about the broader picture. So, I just wanted to take a moment to give a shout out to some of the cool #DigPINS stuff that has been going on.
Recent Runs
Very cool updates about the most recent runs of #DigPINS with fun newness.
Summer 2019
This summer we are bringing on two new schools as University of Michigan – Dearborn and the University of Southern Maine join the #DigPINS family. They join Kenyon College and St. Norbert College from June 24th till July 21st for the largest run yet of our connected participatory faculty development experience. A new development that we’ve taken on is collecting all of the blog posts on one aggregated site discuss.digpins.org.
Pedagome
This past May we partnered with Pedagome to do the first run of #DigPINS that was not focused on faculty but rather facilitated and taken by instructional designer types. Check out https://pedagome.digpins.org/ for the artifacts, topic pages, and blog posts from this super cool experience.
#DigPINS in Scholarship
We have presented on #DigPINS several times at OpenEd, EDUCAUSE Learning Initiative (ELI), and OLC Innovate so we already have an established practice of scholarship and dissemination around #DigPINS. Add to this list a new article in The International Journal of Educational Technology entitled A Call for Promoting Ownership, Equity, and Agency in Faculty Development via Connected Learning which has a section that outlines the the history and some of the structure of #DigPINS.
Stickers
Finally, i’m super excited to announce that I did something that I’d been meaning to for some time. I ordered #DigPINS stickers! I’ve already mailed a bunch to facilitators and and friends of #DigPINS from around the world but I have one or two left so if you would like one let me know.
